Michele -

This is lovely. While working at 10:00pm last Tuesday night, I found myself feeling like "this doesn't count." What? Why? Because it's not between 8 - 5? Our culture tells us powerful lies, doesn't it? It was fun to work at 10:00pm because I was INSPIRED then.

And then I took Wednesday off.

Gotta love self-employment.

Great post, as always. You are an inspiration! :)

Michele, this is so true! Inspiration--quite literally--is the inward breath, taking in, receiving. It's a quality of being, not a doing. It requires a softening and widening of attention, rather than focus or concentration.

Somehow, we've come to equate work with doing, forgetting that action without inspiration is both mechanical and ultimately ineffective. If we keep breathing out without ever breathing in, we're likely to keel over at inopportune moments. :-)

Thanks so much for this inspired Sunday morning post!
