What they’re saying:
“Second Acts that Change Lives offers wisdom about how to find new meaning later in life. As practical as it is fun.” –Marci Shimoff, New York Times bestselling author of Happy for No Reason
“As Sammon’s own story and that of so many others reveal, we all have it within us to pull off a meaningful second act in our lives. This book is a wonderful wake up call to each of us to stop, take our pulse and make a course correction that can and will result in a richness we rarely get to feel while climbing uphill, head down in act one.” –Lee Woodruff, author “Perfectly Imperfect-A Life in Progress”
A mom of three, Ann realized that she’d spent the first half of her very busy life concentrating on building her husband’s career and raising her family. With her youngest daughter poised to enter college, it dawned on Ann that she may have lost herself in the process. Now, she’s eager to pursue the dreams she set aside, but doesn’t have any idea about “what’s next?” Or, where to start.
Drew is a 45-year-old prosecuting attorney who loved to swim as a child and felt trapped in his role as lawyer. He returned to school for a degree in physical education and now teaches swimming lessons and is a full-time triathlon coach.
Mary is a single woman and high-powered marketing executive who climbed the corporate ladder and was waiting for “the perfect” guy and time to start her family. Suddenly, she’s found herself in her 40’s childless and minus the man of her dreams. She’s thinking about switching careers, becoming a teacher and putting her maternal instincts into the lives of youngsters who could benefit from her passion and energy. But, she’s afraid to walk away from her six-figure income and intimidated by what she feels are too many obstacles to make real change.
